About Me

My name is Caelyn McCarthy. I am a third year Animal Behavior major with a Marine Biology minor. I am from the Northwest Corner of Connecticut, a small town of about 3,000 people, five minutes from Massachusetts and fifteen from Southern New York.

You might be wondering “Animal behavior? That’s a real major?” The answer is yes! My major is a mix between psychology, neuroscience and biology educational tracks. I have loved animals all my life, growing up at the local veterinarian’s office where my mom worked when I was young. My ultimate goal with my major is to work in conservation, starting off in the industry by working as husbandry staff at a zoo, in other words a zookeeper.
